Tim Katosee

Tim Katosee is the Founder, President, and Chairman of the Board of the Georgian Wrestling
and Cultural Federation (GWCF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting,
and advancing Georgian wrestling, martial arts, and cultural heritage throughout the United
States. Through GWCF, he is committed to strengthening communities, creating opportunities
for athletes, and building lasting cultural connections between the United States and Georgia.
With more than 35 years of experience in martial arts, coaching, and sports leadership, Tim has
earned an international reputation for excellence. He began practicing judo at the age of 11
and achieved the prestigious USSR Sport Master title and Black Belt (Nidan) at just 17 years
old. As a member of the Soviet Union National Judo Team, he trained in elite Olympic
preparation camps before becoming a Pan-American Champion, USA National Champion,
World Championship bronze medalist, and winner of numerous national and international
competitions.
As a coach, Tim has dedicated his life to developing athletes both on and off the mat. Over the
course of his career, he has trained more than 5,000 students and mentored multiple
generations of competitors, including numerous national champions. His coaching philosophy
extends beyond athletic success, emphasizing discipline, integrity, leadership, and respect—
values that continue to shape the lives of his students.
As Chairman of the Board, Tim provides strategic leadership and guidance for the Federation,
ensuring that its mission remains focused on preserving Georgian traditions, supporting
athletes, and expanding educational and cultural programs. Through his vision and dedication,
the Georgian Wrestling and Cultural Federation continues to grow as a bridge between cultures
and a champion of excellence in sport and community engagement.
